Client Spotlight: Sort of... Films
Sort Of…Films Ltd is one of Sheffield’s most established and enduring production companies. Since 2003, founder and managing director Ed Cartledge has been overseeing the production of documentary/video content for clients across education, charities, the public sector, manufacturing, construction, health and more. Having become a preferred supplier to The University of Sheffield in 2014, much of the last decade has been devoted to creating well over 1000 films for the city’s Russell Group member across marketing and recruitment, research dissemination, public engagement, internal comms, online learning, fundraising and campaigns.
The company also provide a wide range of stand alone services to clients and other agencies including aerial video, stills photography, video strategy consultancy, animation, event videography, production coordination and post-production services such as sound design, subtitling and voiceover production.
Ed himself is an award winning maker of short documentaries with a focus on culture and the environment. A new partnership with environmental journalists Dan Ashby and Lucy Taylor (Smoke Trail Productions) has already led to two major commissions from the Quorn Pioneers Film Fund and HotDocs in Canada. The team are also now developing and pitching feature-length documentary ideas for production over the next 3-5 years.
